Re: The plunk test
I wouldnt want to be shot by any of them Tom, great thoughtful response after Jim went to all the time and trouble to give statistical, detailed information on the bullets you showed interest in. Not trying to be a hard-a$$ here, I'm just missing the old content we used to have on this forum, infor...

Re: My thread on chain saws
Sunsets, sausage making, flowers, now it's chain saws. What's next, what truck do you drive? What toothbrush do you use? Last time I checked, this was supposed to be a 204/rifle forum with sub categories, all firearm-related. There are forums for such trivia, but I'm at a loss as to why the 204um ha...

Re: How many rounds to burn out a .204 bbl?
We've found that during a hot time in the rat patch or on PD's, a soaking wet towel draped over the barrel while it's being cleaned cools it off quickly and with even cooling over the entire length of the barrel. When the barrel is clean, it's then about cool enough to resume shooting. Of course, th...

Re: A new hope-
TK, most will show a trim length of 1.840 on the 204R. I have read where Hornady in working on the 204R case and throat being long was following Roy Weatherby's idea with his creations, in that it allows for more FPS out of a given chamber. Not sure if that is correct or not. RIO can probably give ...

Re: lets talk powder.....
Funnels...... I like most others, started out with a plastic RCBS do-it-all funnel. This morphed to the Saturn funnels....better in all regards, but caliber specific. Then Brad at Custom Reloading Tools (now defunct) brought out the most nifty, well-designed reloading funnel to ever come down the pi...

Re: 204 Ruger, which factory rifle?
Bringing up Cooper, I have one I traded into a few years back, my introduction to 22BR. I forget the model, black fiberglass stock with a Jewel trigger. It shoots fantastic, my complaint is if one was going to shoot any kind of BR stuff with it, opening and closing the action upsets it I. The bags ...

Re: lets talk powder.....
In regard to using VV powders, I found that N133 in the 223 using both 50gr and 40gr bullets for chuck and rat shooting gave me the smallest groups I've ever fired in those 223 rifles. One-hole groups in the sub .2 and .1 realm......fantastic! Only caveat is the cost of the stuff at over $80/lb now,...

Re: The plunk test
The M700 in military form was the M24 or M240, depending on what branch was using it (Army or USMC). Carlos Hathcock used a pre-'64 M70 and the M240 (M700) in RVN and racked up an impressive KIA count. No mention of any failure using the M700 action in combat....none. Perhaps ONE man who had ONE fai...

Tom, that's a nice SA 1911 .45 you've got there, buddy. :wtg: Not a BBQ gun by any measure, but this is one of my favorite 1911 .45's in my stable. This one does indeed get carried.....a lot. https://imagizer.imageshack.com/v2/1024x768q70/923/mnF43v.jpg Kimber Super Carry Ultra +. Full size grip fra...

Re: Small Caliber Posted Results Shoot 2024
I disagree with your plan entirely. your just allowing anyone with a custom rifle to, regardless of caliber, to enter. Well once again, this shows you can't please everyone, no matter how hard one tries. No one is under any obligation to enter. If not liking the rules is your thing, then don't ente...

Prep your brass the way you want, full length or neck sizing, which ever method gives you the results your happy with. TK, this in response to the comment "prep your brass the way you want" from VS above. The advice I gave you is from 50 years of handloading experience. "Good advice ...

Re: Quiet as a Mouse Around Here
I guess my whole point is, we are like a rudderless ship adrift in the current. Every ship needs a captain. We indeed do have a captain, and he goes by the appropriate name of "Skipper" . And as a fellow moderator, I feel he is doing a very good job here, runs the yearly shoot-off, and pu...

Re: Decapping.and.FL sizing. 242cases
I don't watch much of anything on u-tube, just don't have the time. But I'm here to tell you that if you attend a BR match where the shooters are all very knowledgeable, you'll see them all neck sizing only for their match rounds. Very seldom if ever will you see those guys F/L sizing their precious...
