Re: Small Caliber Posted Results Shoot 2024

Sorry I expressed my thoughts on your plan for a competition. Have what you and all the forum members agree on. I'm out of it. I sorry you feel that way. Please, reconsider. You had a valid point. The groups will be the tale of the tape. I'm sure we will all walk away with valuable experiences.

Re: The plunk test

Ya' know TK you sound a lot like me. The Marines spoiled me. I had the best of what Uncle Sam had to offer. I learned all about rifles and pistols while under the guidance of many top notch Subject Matter Experts. So when I buy a gun, especially pistols that I might depend on. I do the ultimate test...

Re: Small Caliber Posted Results Shoot 2024

Okay, where's Varmint Shooter? I have thought it over and decided that, to make it fair, I'll shoot this old Remington XR 100. Box stock with a Leupold VX III 3.5-10 x 50mm scope. I may add a Harris bipod and use a rear bag. The thumb hole, rounded forearm stock on this thing doesn't lend itself to ...

Sounds like a job for Forced Amphibious Recon Marine with a night scope. Just stay in the house!!

Re: Small Caliber Posted Results Shoot 2024

I disagree with your plan entirely. your just allowing anyone with a custom rifle to, regardless of caliber, to enter. You, yourself, are planning on using a custom built rifle even if it is a 204R. Go back to your first competition, one official 5 shot target, standard 204R, one official scorer, h...

Re: Small Caliber Posted Results Shoot 2024

I'll have to admit that I'm also working on a new 20 caliber. Mostly waiting for parts is what I'm doing. Like my last build, I think this new rifle will be just the ticket for competition. This one will be an F Class style rather than a dedicated Bench Rest rifle. Only problem is that it probably w...

Re: Small Caliber Posted Results Shoot 2024

The only caveat I would offer is winter still has a firm grip on SW MT so my participation might be limited to those times when the white stuff allows me the opportunity to get to my preferred range. Never fear MTPaul, we usually wait till spring has sprung. We missed last year, but I'm ready to jo...

Re: A new hope-

How does that thing reference the case so ALL are the same length? A rod down the middle of the case or something?? Inquiring minds, ya' know. Kinda looks like the old pencil sharpener we had in grade school. Keep feeding and you would come up with a pencil nub.

Small Caliber Posted Results Shoot 2024

*** Hear ye, hear ye! *** Anyone up for a competition?? I get the feeling that a Postal Match might be a really great way to bolster board participation. This year I was thinking of offering a competition that is not caliber specific. The center of a hole is the center of a hole, regardless of the ...

Re: Quiet as a Mouse Around Here

Years back 204 Ruger.com could also be reached through a domain named RugerHunting.Com. That domain is up for sale if anyone is interested. I have no interest in owning or managing a forum. Sorry, but it just doesn't interest me. I do what I do out of a respect for Brian and his son Tarrin. If you a...

Re: Decapping.and.FL sizing. 242cases

If those are used in a bolt action rifle then I would consider not full length sizing them. Once fire formed to a specific rifle they take the shape of your chamber and only need to be full length sized whenever the bolt becomes hard to close, to bump the shoulders back. If you have a neck sizing di...

Re: Quiet as a Mouse Around Here

Let me just say a few things here. Tarrin is the board Founder. 204Shooter, Brian, is his father and was the originator of this forum many years ago. He has the ultimate say in what becomes of the forum. He made me an Administrator a few years back. That gave me limited powers. Mostly I spend a lot ...
