Re: The Challenge Begins!

Well yesterday morning I went out to shoot my target on the calmest day that has presented itself in a while. Sadly, I broke the sacred rule of how to shoot a perfect five shot group and didn’t stop at four… Lol. The first four were nearly a perfect one hole group and the fifth shot dropped about a ...

221 fireball bullet weight

I’m finally getting a 221 fireball rifle and was wondering what is the best bullet weight. Will be shooting both paper and and small varmints. What do you guys like?

Re: Remove/Disable Ejector for Varmint rifles

I have a Savage model 12 built in 20 VT that is right hand, left port that it set up without an ejector. I find it handy just to pick the casing out from the extractor and reload another round.

Re: 6x45mm twist rate

Looks like it will take longer to get the Cooper done. Will have to wait for them to get another barrel in. Should be ok and back in time to work up some loads. Great customer service at Cooper, keeping me in the loop and all.

Re: 221 Fireball Build

I have an E R Shaw MK VII in 224 Valkyrie that was not shooting up to my standards. Shot best with 77 Sierra TMK but wanted to go heavier. So I’m building a 224 Valkyrie on a Savage Target action and I talked with the guys at Shaw and thinking about getting it re-barreled in 221 Fireball. That way I...

Re: 6x45mm twist rate

I would like to hear how your project goes. I put together a 6TCU rifle a couple of years ago. I wanted a 1-10” myself, but all they had in the profile I wanted was a 1-8”. 55-75 grain was all I planned on using. All I have shot so far are a bunch of odds and ends of various odd lots I had that nee...
