I'm blessed with good eyesight I guess. I'll tell ya' though, I'll never forget the 1st time I laid down @ 1000 yds with a M1 Garand. That was definetly a frustrating event, but it sure beat pulling weeds in the garden...

Jim, anything beats pulling weeds. I think it was Elmer Kieth who once said " God don't deduct any time spent looking through sights of of your life span" i sure hope he was right KB.

Jim/Ken: I read Elmer's exact words. In that case, I've added a few years to my lifespan. If all goes well in a few more weeks, I'll add even more. Skippy won't be too thrilled though, as his lifespan is about to get much shorter.

Thanks for the kind words. Shooting, whether its open sights (apature) has three basic rules;
Front Sight, Sight Alignment, Trigger Control. If you can do these three things consistently, you'll do good. Also, marksmanship is like dairy products; they will SOUR if not used.

Just a thought, it's a good job your skippy never got to read guns&ammo or he might have gotten himself a tele sight to extend his life

Ken: Forget about tele sights, if we don't keep an eye on these little buggers, they go out and arm themselves with select-fire belt-fed weapons! THAT can be a real problem!
