What is wrong with these primers? Picture

I had the same problem with rem 6 1/2 primers it looked like I would end up with a pierced primer--I did not have one. I went to a Remington website and it stated that the 6 1/2 primers have a soft cup and were made initially for the .22 hornet round. I have since tried some loaded rounds in an ar-15 and half expected to get slam fires--it didn't happen and the primers were not indented nearly as much as with my rem. 700 .223. I have good luck with fed. gm205m primers and use rem. 7 1/2 primers in most of my loads and find they give me the very best performance every time.
