Long winter, slow shooting

Post by Bill K »

Just to put some life into the site, not many posts the last week or so.
With the cold and snow still hanging on in my neck of the woods, I have been forming 222 Rem, then working it down to 20-222 (Actually into my 20 VTT) from 223 LC brass, of which I have hundreds of.
Gives me something to do other than plow and snow blow snow, this time of the year.
Also putting aside the rounds I will use for this years "Five on a Dime" shoot, if Skipper holds it again. :D Give you guys and gals something to shoot for.
What have some of you been doing ?

Just a small sample of what I am doing outside, other than shooting critters, which I am not.

Holding around a good average of 6 feet, right now.

Wow, I'm pleased we don't get anything like that! This country wouldn't be able to cope!
I only have to be lucky once,
the fox has to be lucky every time!

Gosh Bill, what is that white stuff again? Goose down? LOL
All we get anymore is rain.
With economy slow down, I've been layed off until tomorrow, so I took inventory of my small bore stuff. Plenty of 17 Rem 25gr. and 30gr. bullets, in fact, more than I'll ever shoot in my lifetime. Ended having more Berger and Nagel bullets than I thought I had plus about 400 rounds of Genco 25gr. VLD's. In 204, plenty of 35gr. Berger, 34gr. Nosler, and 37gr. Blackhole. 223 bullets are plentiful also. With pelts being worth next nothing I've been loading and shooting bullets that are not pelt friendly. I did discover that a 223 68gr. Hornady Match and N140 are just awesome for accuracy. Plenty of brass in all 3 calibers, but could maybe use a bit more small rifle primers, Rem 7 1/2, and IMR8208, H4895, and RL26.

Sounds like you are ready to go.. What is this stuff ? In the last 2 days, I have had 3-4 more ft come down. Been real busy, plowing and snow blowing the drive and the street in front and keeping the berm down in front of the driveway, the county plow rolls up, when they do come down the street..
I am really getting tired and wanting a long break from this stuff, even tho we need it for spring run off and all. :D

You are getting it also Bob, there in Colo. Here are a couple shots to compare with the one's I posted a few days ago, and simular one's this morning.
Plus one to gauge the depth alongside my Dorango. :)
