Barnes VLC in 22 cal

Post by Hawkeye Joe »

I acquired a bunch of the 40gr Barnes VLC solid dry film coated bullets. AKA "blue meanies". It seems to me the stuff would get impregnated into the barrel walls. Then forcing me to continue to use coated bullets. Or does it clean out with ease.

I think Rick in Oregon uses those in one of his rifles. He would be the one in the know.
If you prefoul your tube with regular bullets first the blue film should be a lot easier to remove I would think. :chin:

Mike: I've been shooting those little blue meanies in my 223AI for years without any trouble at all; cleans right out, less fouling, great velocity. I wish Barnes still made them.

Here's a bunch ready to launch at Skippy:

And here's Skippy awaiting their arrival (the "Before" shot):

And here's the "After" shot:

Load them up with confidence! ;)
