Berger 6.5 bt bullet project

Post by LeeC »

Berger is looking for testers to try out their new 6.5 140gr Bt (not VLD). Any rifle, any range eligible. Your should contact: Michelle.Gallagher@bergerbullets.com and describe your rifle and precision potential, distances you are able to test at, include your shipping address and phone. Here's a chance to test out a new bullet for free.

 Well, POOP! My answer was that they had such an overwhelming response that they're out of test bullets.

I'll bet they went fast, the 6.5 is becoming very popular.
I replied shortly after it was posted on Benchrest Central.
Did you tell them to make more?

OUCH $1 a bullet.
Probably not that far in our futures though :eew:
Just noticed the price spike in 6.5 x 284 Lapua brass at Midway. Gonna be a buck per case before long.
Powder Valley has'nt started qouging yet but its just a matter of time. Gotta decide pretty quick if the 6.5 is something I want to live with or just burn up the tube and move on to something else. Only have 98pcs of brass for it.

I shot an Audette ladder with it yesterday afternoon with N-160 and 140 Bergs. Sweet!!! Judging by the results if the 204 is not careful it might lose the Nightforce.

Someone want 50? I'll send em out. 50 is enough for testing for me.

Jo
What powder are you using in the 6.5/284?? I'm out of H4831sc so H4350 is my fuel. Doing pretty well with 140 Berger VLD's and 47.2 -47.8 grains of 4350... OAL 3.200  just touching the lands.
