New way to post photos

You may be aware of the current fiasco photobucket is creating for everyone. If you haven't heard, I'm sure you've seen all the broken links on the forum.

Due to this, the complexity of posting photos, and the limited options for hosting, we have decided to enable uploading files to 204Ruger.com. Please read this whole post before uploading.

This service will be provided as a courtesy. We will be in no way responsible for the loss of files. Because of this, always make backups before uploading to 204Ruger. Never let the only copy of your file be the one on the forum.

We ask you to please not take advantage of this service. This is provided as an easy way to share files with others, not as your personal backup service.

To upload, you will see a new tab called 'Attachments' when editing a post. You can have five attachments of 10 MiB each per post. You can use the 'inline' button to place the file in a certain spot in your post.

Photo of the highly evasive “brass hound”. Has been seen in numbers encroaching double digits at times. Seen often in spring and later in early fall. Usually seeking out shiny objects but have been know to retrieve dull and dirty at times. Oddly females of the species are rarely seen. This one looks to be of the greater species.

My buddy absolutely hates that picture. He would kill me or at worst “adjust” my scope a full revolution when I wasn’t looking. I hope he does not find out he is an internet celebrity now, lol.

Is there a way to adjust the size of the photo that's displayed?

Are you referring to modifying a pic someone posted, or your own pic?

If you're using a photo hosting site, you can change the size there prior to posting. I consider a hosting site to be the best way to post pics. I don't use this site to use pics from my computer, so can't comment if that's the method you're using....sorry.

Perhaps Skipper or another member can help when he/they sees this. If not, send an email to admin to get the correct answer. Wish I could be of more assistance.

You can easily resize your pics using a number of apps like Preview. Just open the pic and click on Tools, Adjust size... Then save it to your hard drive as a JPEG file. Then you can upload it directly into your post as detailed at the top of this thread. It's free versus paying a hosting site. Plus, using a hosting site usually takes members out of this forum when they click on your pic. Then you may need to re-login again. Redundant, isn't it???

Just FYI, sending an email to Admin@204Ruger.com won't work the way it used to. Better to PM him directly instead. That's me, BTW
