Vortex XLR MOA Reticle

Post by TEXAS222 »

Hey guys, I just thought I'd share this bit of information. I just bought two Vortex HS LR 6X24X50 FFP scopes with the XLR MOA reticle, model VHS-4315-LR. Brownell's had them with a 100.00 promo so my total 799.00 each. I love my Leupold's with the VH reticle but these are really nice also. I rally like these a lot for the price & the warranty, Forever, no questions asked. Jim D Southeast Texas

I used one last year for prairie dog elimination. They are great and is my favorite scope now. Great for when your shots are in different locations, different parts of the hillside. Easy to make adjustment shots to get to the red mist. :zap:

Hi guys my first post here;
I run a 4-12X40 Vortex viper with the MOA BDC reticle.
the bdc is set up pretty good for a 204 blasting 40 grainers at around 3400-3500
the bullet drop lines are:
1.5 moa ---275 yds
4.5 moa ---400 yds
7.5 moa and 475 yds
11 moa 575-600 yds
yds as sighted in at 200 yds

Welcome Shady99. That's a great scope. My ageing eyes have forced me to go up in power more & more. I wish I could get the 4 x 14 with the XLR reticle for closer range shooting. Will look forward to hearing from you again. JD Southeast Texas

Thanks TEJAS JD i really like the bdc in the viper, i have the 1" tube on mine so its not the best viper out there but for $500 its a lot of scope for the price
also really like the easily resettable turrets. certainly wouldnt mind a bit more zoom, not for coyotes but for ground squirrels at 250+ yards
Ill try to attach a picture of my rifle / scope
Rifle: Tikka T3 Lite Synthetic
Scope: Vortex Viper 4-12X40PA with (moa) bdc reticle
Harris bipod, Leupold range finder (this is not a very good range finder, cant pick up too much past 250 yards even with lenses cleaned and new battery)
