Check First Stop Guns (on Guns America).

Whittaker's always has a large inventory of Coopers. I'd check there too before buying somewhere else.

Good luck finding the one you want. Let us know how it shakes out. :D

Great find there, Vanamal! Hope it's everything you had hoped for.

I have that exact rifle, and it's one of my rat patch favorites. Hits out past 500 yards on squirrels, accuracy that'll make you smile, and great looks to boot. What's NOT to like, right?

Wicked Wanda in the rat patch doing what she does best....teaching Skippy to fly!

Mine thrives on a diet of RL-10X, either the 32gr NBT or 39gr SBK's, and wears a Leupold VX3 LR 6.5-20X 40mm with M1 turrets. Pure fun for me, pure death on grass rats.

Thats the one!!A lot of options on that scope. I think they sell 6 or 8 versions of that scope. I will prob use factory ammo until i get a bunch of brass and buy some reloading equipment. Suggestions on that??

Ok guys getting excited! First stop is shipping then the calif 10 day wait. Gives me time to scope out a scope. Leaning towards the leupold 6.5 x 20 x 40.. i think i might like the side focus? I took out my cz 452 american in .17hmr ( with mueller scope) It doesnt reach out like i hope the .204 mtv will but its a hole puncher! I always take my 1911s to the range too. I have two wilson combats in 45acp and they are close to top the heap in that catagory. My everyday shooter out the window of the truck is an old jc higgins sears .22. Marlin 80 i think they quit making those in 1962. My other favorites ( not including shotguns) that i always shoot are my browning bl22 lever gun. A real blast to shoot and i got my daughter one for xmas. Also i just got a browning sa22 semi auto. One of brownings last designs and has been in production since 1914. I have 25000 rounds of .22 and 8000 rounds of .45acp so me and the kids/grandkids are set for awhile

Vanamal: Good news! I can feel your excitement from here. :D

We share another common interest; high end 1911's. I've got a passel of Kimbers myself, plus a few Colts. I always have one with a .22LR conversion unit mounted when in the field after rats with my 204's.

If he could, Skippy here would attest to the accuracy of these conversion units, this one is the Compact 3" unit mounted on my Ultra .45 frame. This rat was sitting on his mound while I was on the rifle. After a few shots of him not bailing down his hole, I pulled the Kimber out of my IWB rig, and shut him up from only about 25 yards:

But as your waiting on your Cooper MTV, here's a couple of shots to keep your enthusiasm high. In the field doing here thing, "Wicked Wanda" has her way with the squirrels (32gr NBT over a stiff load of RL-10X for 4,060 fps):

Some MTV's have some very nice wood, nicer than mine shown here. When you get your rifle, show us the wood, as we're all suckers for a nice stick of walnut.

As for ammo stash, I've got a Dillon RL550 plus my single stage presses, so there's no shortage of ammo here either. My gun room is getting smaller every year as .50 cal ammo cans keep getting stacked higher and deeper filled with ammo for the field and practice.

Good luck, hope your MTV is a real sweetie. :D

I'm using scope atn x-sight II hd 3-14x (https://www.atncorp.com/smart-hd-weapon-sight). This scope is not very expensive and has good features. I hope that my advice will help you choose the right scope.

Thanks wish this site was a little more active. I got a leupold 6.5 x 20 x 40 varmint retical. Shoots great and got an invite to a friends ranch in north east calif. squirrel central. Has a little place we can stay too. Hes a hunter and said go stay and shoot all you want! I like my meuller scope on my cz 17 hmr and plan on buying a cz 455 in .22 lr or an anshutz. I have a place to shoot near home but nothing loud neighbors complain so .22 is great. I did a some break in on the mtv cleaning after every 5-10 rounds. Ill post a pic its a beauty!!!
