Calculating Distance With Mil Dots

Post by trammerbammer »

I have a Barska 6-24x50 Varmint Rifle Scope on my Savage Model 12. Love the gun and the scope. I know how to measure distance with the mil dots, but is there a specific magnification that it has to be set to in order for it to be accurate?

I called Barska to ask that question and was told the mildot system is calibrated at 10X. You might call as that may differ from model to model.
