Need your feedback

Post by choper101st »

Finishing up a new upper in 204 for my AR. Want some suggestions for a scope with at least 4" of eye relief. Most hunting for yote's at 100 yards or less so I am not interested in high power scope for 300 to 400 yard shots. Thanks

My suggestion is rather simple, Buy good glass once. It is way better than buying poor glass, and later find out that you need to replace it. I am definately a Leupold man, and a variable fan, say a 3-7 or 3-9 power x40mm. I have seen some very good pricing on the VXI and VXII lately. I would lean toward the VXII's myself, but you did not mention if you are on a budget or not.

+1 to all of that.

Do you have a price range in mind?

I want to thank all of you for the advise. I am seriously shopping for the Leupold 3-9x40.

Bass Pro Shop has the Leupold QDM Rifleman matte black 3X9X40mm scopes on sale...I'm thinking in the $169.99 price range with a free Scope Coat ($24.99) value.I have one mounted on my CZ-USA "Varmint" .204 Rifle and it has worked fine for me since most of my shooting has been fairly close....it would be nice to have a scope that will reach out further in the larger open fields but that doesn't happen often enough where I hunt! :chin: :duh:
