Second focal plane. I have had that exact same scope on a Cooper 21 in 204R for about a year and a half. Performance has been flawless so far. Clarity and brightness are very good. Eye relief at higher powers is just a tiny bit touchy as compared to my Leupold in the same range. Should mention that the Viper is on my truck rifle so it has seen a lot of temperature extremes, dust, vibration.........and has been a great performer.
