Talk to Mike at Mikes Main Street Sports, he is a good guy and will treat you right. Mike typically keeps at least one or two Cooper 20 VT's in stock.

Here is his information:

Mike's Main St Sports
106 N Main St
Lamar, CO 81052
(719) 336-5923

As far as brass and dies go we keep a selection of Redding 20 VT dies in stock and we have access to 221 fireball brass if you need it.

The last one that Mike had (has?) was a Model 21. My understanding is that Cooper went from the Model 38 to the Model 21. Some say this was because of pressure concerns. My understanding is that it was to streamline production due to a difference in the actions. The Model 38 requiring extra time machining the bolt. When I was shopping this last Spring, I was hoping to find one in the smaller action. I finally gave up (no patience) and ended up with a Model 21. Best of luck, they do pop up from time to time. I think I have seen at least two up for sale in the last 6 or 8 months. Maybe place some "WTB" ads on the various small caliber forums?

On edit: Brads' your guy for dies!

Ramos is spot-on. It was only after I had been shooting my own M38 VR in 20VT for a season, that I realized that the 20VT was then only available in the M21. Like Jon sez, they're out there, but it'll take some looking about to find one......but it's not as bad as lookin' for chicken lips!

Here's one, but in a M21:

And here's the exact rifle you're looking for, a M38 in 20VT:

And another:

And here's one of the best places around to find the Cooper of your dreams:

Ya just gotta look around, amigo. :D I know for a fact I'll never sell mine....it's become my favorite rat rifle of the lot.

I was looking at that rifle every day for a month, and intended to buy it on 1/4 when my 'new rifle' fund will exceed the price. Friday or Saturday, it went from "In Stock" to "Call for Availability."
