My sons 1st Buck

Post by Ray P »

Just let everyone know my son anchored his 1 st buck here in Pa. He's hunted since he was 12, he missed last season being away at Penn state in State College,Pa. Wed 11/28 at 4:10pm he got a nice 7 pointer weight about 150# deer. Used my Ruger s/s # 1 in 300 win mag. A pet load of H1000/81.3/150 berger. Not much of a shot 125 yrds. One shot one deer. A through in the terrain is were the deer layed. He thought he missed, he didn't see no tail or body running thru the woods. He waited 10 min and walked over to wher he shot and their layed the deer. Yep I 'm a proud dad and I think I lost my No 1 ruger to my No 1 son!
Not a big spread about 14", nice brow tines. Deer was nicer than the rack.

Congrats to the young buck slayer. He'll be hooked for life now....seems we all remember our first buck very well for our entire lives.

Ray, now you've got a valid excuse to buy a new rifle! ;)
