Well acloco, not even my most double-dog super secret rat patch can't compare to that! Never seen that before, and nutin' like that exists around these parts, I promise. Looks like those lil critters don't even breach the surface; would be hard shootin' the little buggers.

This is a typical mound patch around these parts.....nuthin' by comparison:

At least we know what critter makes the mounds around here...... .20 caliber target fodder ;) :

And this is the usual terminal outcome of such mound-sitting antics:

Can you say "rodent dissassembly"?

Interesting about those mini mounds in any case.....there's always sumthin' new to ponder. Thanks for sharing. :D

RIO....LOL! I thought you might enjoy this.

If I pulled up to a field with 8 foot diameter mounds that were 12" to 3 FEET tall....I would start wondering if I brought enough gun. :)

When I get out of my truck and see 3' high mounds, there's only one weapon in the rig to cope with such humungous rats......the Barrett .50 cal!

Ryan, one of my sons cradling the pet Barrett stoked with PMC 660gr FMJ's:

Shooting those rather large rats at a lasered 1,260 yds here a while back (note the concussion and dust signature):

And "Big Bertha" in her case:

I know all you former military types have experience with the M2 and her ammo, but when seen alongside a .223 round, it really brings things into full perspective:

Small calibers for small rodents, and BIG calibers for the large ones.....right?

Whatever vermin, that digs a hole, and leaves a MOUND of dirt that can support growing TREES....yes...the BMG would probably be the minimum DV (Dangerous Vermin) cartridge allow. :)

I'll just carry my HMR & take care of everything out to 750yds. I don't want to walk any further than that anymore.

The BMG round makes the 223 look like an HMR case!!
