it just keeps raining

haven't fired a shot since the Round-up, all this rain is keeping the little critters under ground, just hope as another shooter said that they are fornicating like crazy in their burrows.

Same in my area and fields. Light rain, some very light snow at times and wind. Just staying overcast and gloomy and they are not coming back out, like they started a couple weeks ago. I am getting really tired of this weather hanging on like it is. Having withdrawals I guess. :wall: Bill K :)

I feel your pain! Was up in Lassen/Modoc counties last week and everything is flooded. The farmers don't want anyone out in their fields because of the mud-can't blame them though. Randy.

It's a complete mud-bog here too, raining almost every day. Rats are down, ranchers don't want trucks out in their fields right now.....we're outa action for a spell guys......

The rock chucks are out, but I don't shoot them this early in order to give the moms a chance to raise their young to a self-sufficient age. But come about mid to late April....well then, they've got some real trouble. My 20VT is just waiting.

Know what you mean. On one rock outcropping on the edge of town, where I see Rock Chucks, I saw two sitting on some, but overcast and threat of rain, with a slight drizzle here and there. So I will be patient and wait another week or so and by then some sunshine should be coming out.. Also it will dry out the pivots and squeeks will be back out and starting in hordes.. Then watch out. :D Bill K :)

It was great weather for the Roundup, but not since, I took my game cart to get to my favorite spot. Ground was frozen early, but not after 9AM.

We're getting some rain in Idaho too. Doesn't seem like as much as you are. We catch a day or two in between rains when we can get out and shoot a few. No floods but the roads do get slick and slimy. These squirrels over here don't hang around farms and alfalfa fields much. They are out bon BLM ground.

They're thick in the alfalfa fields, there are days when it'd be good to have someone keeping my .17 mags full the shooting is so continuous.

Same all around my area, the alfalfa fields are the place to be. Great shooting until it gets to high, then the little buggers are hard to see and get on, but then It picks up again after they cut it down, row it up and bale. Then the shooting picks up again each time in between each cutting. The farmers seem to get at least three cuttings and even a fourth, so we have plenty of shooting during the spring/summer months. Can shoot easily 1-2 thousand rounds and have some great shooting a teaching acrobatics. Bill K :)

I hear many say they stop after crop gets high, I'm with you Bill, and since farmers stager the harvests there's almost always a place to shoot till they little buggers go down

Good try there, Skipper, but at this time of year, paper is not on the target list.....HAIR is!

First break in all this Pacific storm weather, and I'm outa here, rifle in hand! Bring it on Skippy!

But for those who can't get out for hair, Skipper is ready to fix you up with Five Under a Dime Targets. Much better than letting your pet 204 languish in the safe, right?
