First one off of the "meatsicle"

Noticed this fella at the back of the house just off of the trout pond. By the time I grabbed the 204 T3 lite he had wandered 250 yds out to where my "meatsicle" was set up (just set it up on Saturday) Let the games begin.
Smacked him with a 38 grain wildcat, 4 spins and he was done. Entrance was just a touch smaller than a quarter, no exit, insides like "jello".

Gube, Sure makes me envious when you can look out the back of your house and shoot something like a coyote. Good pictures. 8) Cheers, Ken.

Gube, seems you have the ultimate play gound for coyotes! I think many of us are jealous of the vast area you live in. Can't wait to see how many you get this year. I am liking that T3 lite, it is a killing machine!!! Keep the great stories coming. Rudy

Gube...nice shooting and a nice looking Yote. I know you use the frozen bait pile "meatsickle" but do you sometimes call them in too? I imagine it get pretty noisy at night with all the critters chomping on those moose ribs and meatsickle deserts. :wtg:

Yes, I do call them and have been doing it for years. In the past, three of us would head out, with one caller and two shooters but instead of a rifle, we used to smack them with bow & arrow. Lots of up close and personal action. Since taking up the rifle with the calling, success rates have been much much higher and at times seems quite easy compared to when we did it with stick & string. I even called one up last year in the fog right up to the back of the house. That one took a 35 gr berger. I started using the "meatsickle" last winter just to have that extra "fun factor" over the course of our long winters. They just legalized electronic callers this year so I may be looking at getting myself a fox pro just to mix it up a bit.
