Spring Break Fun...

Post by Racr350 »

Just finished up my spring break but did do some shooting over it (Finally!). Went down to my Grandparents with my Brother & Dad and setup a 250YD shooting range down one of their fields. Decided to zero my .204 in at 150yds and this is the tightest group I could get:

Image

This was with Factory Hornady 40Gr V-max. The 6 shot group measured 1.75". My rifle is a stock Remington 700 SPS Varmint. So what Im asking is the rifle capable of tighter groups (with factory ammo) or is this what I should expect :?:

Here's some more pictures of that days outting:

Here's our Setup in the Field. The ground was realllly wet btw...

Looking over his head downrange. The white square in the distance is at 250YDS...

Here's my dad doing his part behind his 700 SPS V in .223...

I also got my first grey squirrel this year with my .22WMR :D :

My dog "treed" him at the top of a tall oak tree. Not a long shot (probably 30 yards) but was exciting none the less. Got him right through the spine. My dog wants to "play" with it if you can't tell... ;)

Trophy Shot...

It was definitely needed. I haven't shot since around Christmas :wall: so this was a nice break.

Nice shootin Racr350.
Looks like you have a nice long range target set up there at your grandparents.
And that's a trophy squirrel for sure. You can tell he is an old one that needed to be culled from the herd.

Yea the land sure is nice for shooting out there. Next time we're there, we're gonna stretch it out to 300 or 350. My goal is to get on paper at 400yds so im not too far away :D

Don't forget about the 35 and 32 grain bullets. Nice kill on that rat. I hope you let the pooch have a taste.
