In the republic of ireland each gun has to have a licence. When you apply for a licence for a new rifle you just have to tick a box and give a reason on a form when applying to the gaurds. I found it easy enough just say you dont want to upset the neighbours. The licence then has a little "s" on it. Thankfuly the government hasnt slapped a 200euro tax on it yet. The can adds alot of weight if you are walking around shooting rabbits. Also I have to tape it up well with camo tape to stop the glare of it when lamping. My lamp is mounted on top of my scope.
