Spammers have taken over the 204 Forum!

Post by Rick in Oregon »

Daily now I spend about an hour deleting spam posts here. I'm getting tired of it.

Admin: Do SOMETHING to limit all these bots from posting spam every night. We need to add the feature that makes a new member actually read and then type a code to admit entry, or this forum is toast.

Today it was a bunch of Russian crap, there's still a bunch on here, but I just don't have the time to continue to dink about with it, as I've got other things to do.

To all our members, sorry for what is happening, but I have absolutely no control over it, any fix must come from the forum administrators.

Thanks for the hard work RIO! A little "captcha" would stop the bots. Go out and terminate something small and furry with extreme prejudice. :)

Exactly why I made a post re: the fruitcakes and their posts, under gen talk, so the mod's could get on it and zap them. Bill K

Bill and others, I'm done here as a moderator until the administrators wake up and create the system used on other forums to prevent spammer bots from posting.

I just cannot keep up with all the crap, porn, bogus sales pitches being posted by the minute by these cretins. It's frustrating to spend an hour deleting this $hit, only to come back ten minutes later to see they're back posting their crap right where it was just deleted.

This forum is toast unless the admin types wake up and prevents these entities from gaining access to our forum. Sorry, but I've got a life too, and time spent deleting spam is time I don't have for my family, dogs, and rifles.

I do not blame you one bit Rick. It is a sad day, when these type start posting their crap and ruin a very fine site/forum.
Admins just have too do something to stop this activity or this one will go the way others have and we lose a good group/cause for info, etc. between members. Bill K

Rick--Thanks for serving as a moderator. I appreciate you time and effort. I have to agree with you about spammers. The admins have to do something to prevent all the spammers. Like you mentioned, life is too short for the moderators to have to weed out these junk posts.

Hopefully Tarrin ( Admin ) has taken steps, as you see, too eliminate the spammers, and what he has done will keep them out. I, for one, owe him a great big Thank You. Bill K
