.204 Ruger Guns: Thompson Center contender

I shoot contenders exclusively so I can't really speak to the 'heating up of barrels' but I have quite a range of small bore chambers.
They range from 17HMR, .204 Ruger, .222 Rem, .223 Rem, and .222 Rem Mag Imp all rifle barrels and the one that I have the highest confidence in to drill a fly at 100 yds is the 204 Ruger with a 32 gr. bullet. I was having trouble finding .222 Rem Mag brass so I bought a .204 Ruger barrel to use once fired brass as donor parents for my .222 Rem Mag Improved. But when I reload the .204 it shoots better than commercial loadings.
I cant justify the vartag as an addition. I can download the 204 to have even less recoil if I choose.
As far as powder consumption, the original 222 holds that award, but when you need a little more, you've gotta pay a little more. And it is rarely proportional to the yield.
