I am a retired mechanical engineer. I was born in Utah. I graduated from Utah State University, got married and then moved to New York State to work for IBM. After 2 years we moved to Northern California. After 36 years in Santa Rosa CA area, we sold out house and moved back to Utah. We bought a house for half of what we sold our Ca home.

I have 7 grandkids with the eighth due in May. I have a year old Toyota Tacoma pickup, and enjoy traveling all over the state. I've seen 2 Mountain lions, one badger, one coyote and lots of mule deer and antelope. Also a herd of wild mustangs, a bald eagle and plenty of jack rabbits.

I am still married to the same grand old girl. This June 8 it will be forty years together.

Hey Ugashik Bob:

Have you had a chance to connect with a wolf? I know that they are considerably bigger than a coyote and was just wondering how the .204 ruger does on bugger game.

Welcome Derek. Nice to hear from someone from across the pond! We look forward to hearing more from you. Can you hunt with your .204 or do you use it for plinking and target practice?

Hey Glen This is Flatcreek and I think I'm the one that gave 204 the idea for this topic it appeared just after I made a post" just wanted to say hi " anyway I agree with you 100%. It really nice to be able to learn alittile about the people on the forum. So I'm going to punish you all one more time.
I'm 56 my name is Phil, Flatcreek Phil to you guys. I live in New Jersey have a wife, two sons and a daughter. I have a small farm and a stair building business. I enjoy varmint hunting ground hog , fox and also deer hunting. We have pretty good white tail hunting here in Jersy I got 3 bucks in 04. as for ground hog if you get 2 or 3 in a evening you had a good nite so accuracy is very important . Thats why I bought my ruger target and my cooper in 204. My most fun hunting was last summer in S.D. with with my youngest son Nick. Here are two pic of the trip. WE will be going again. Thats my ruger and nick is using a 17 hmr. Check out the shooting sticks you can throw a set togeth in 2 minutes and cost is about 1.50

Mac-- Welcome aboard. I don't think you'll be disappointed with it. Nobody here has been. Don't see it happening. We're looking forward to your input as well.

BTW-- It's not nice to say you got a new rifle & then not share the particulars of said rifle. :lmao:
