I shot a coyote from my porch yesterday morning at 380 yards with the .243. The coyote hide wasn't any good as the 75 grain vmax destroyed it. I left the coyote lie where it was and by evening there was a bald eagle sitting by it!! We dont have a lot of eagles here, but the last few years I've been seeing a few here and there. Then again today the eagle was out there. I couldn't take a pic of it because I dont have a camera capable of taking a good photo at that range. I couldn't tell if he was actually eating the coyote or not, but he was sitting out there by it.

Geese are big and tough. They'd give one heck of a fight to even the biggest eagle. Perhaps the baldies are just looking for dead or dying honkers, or looking to see if they are beginning to lay eggs so they can steal one now and again.
