I just finished making my custom 5 piece Laminate walnut ar stock and grip. Thought a few of you might like to see a few pictures. Makes the 204 look a little sharper . http://s166.photobucket.com/albums/u109 ... R%20Stock/

I'm not able to bring up your photos when I click the link that you posted. It just takes me to photobuckets homepage. Do I need to click anything else?
It's hard to detect good luck, It looks so much like something you've worked hard for and earned.

Valar-- In your photobucket acct just run your cursor over the pic you want to post. There will be a drop down menu. Go to the bottom optiom,, IMG,, left click on it & when it says "copied" you are ready to come back here. Go into the reply box & right click then PASTE. Should work for you.

It isnt a ak wannabe I have two ak look alikes already! I Love to do woodworking, and hate the way plastic looks so cheap! It is also more functional as the stock base is flatened out to work in a rear bag rest. The stock ar stock is useless off a rest due to taper. But opinion is a freedom that is gauranteed bye being American! So ,so be it we are all intitled to opinion. I find it is most likley unusual to find Polymer more appealing than wood? If it helps any I finished it with Automotive Clear Coat for weather resistance? LOL, Merry Christmas!
I said I loved the wood, I just didn't like it on an AR.
I do tons of things that no one else likes. Do I care...no. It works for me, or it is something I like. I can tell you like the wood, and it's beautiful work, but that doesn't mean I have to like the application.
Or would you prefer I lie to you? Not one of my habits.
I think it a beautiful piece of work as well... Personally, I'm too rough on my ARs for something like that... The closest I've come is various paint schemes, as I can touch them up as needed... putting a gouge or serious nick in something that beautiful would break my heart..
Thanks Turtle I know what you mean, however to me it is a varmit rifle. If i screw it up I built it and I can fix it. I have more beutifull walnut in the shed! Though with the hours I have in it yes I would be upset. I still have my composite stock and could easilyswitch to it for extreme hunting purposes. But iI finished it in auto motive clearcoat so scratches could just be buffed out. I have always been a sucker for a select Walnut Stock.
