Reloading for my AR

Post by Whitetail fanatic »

Alright here's my question for the AR shooters here, I'm currently trying to build a load for my Bushmaster with an 18" barrel with a 1:12 twist, I want to shoot the 35gr Bergers or the 34gr nosler HP. I'm not looking for speed load but I'am looking for a consistant load to hunt yotes with,I've been shooting the 32gr v-max and feel that it's just to light for busting dogs,so do any of you reload if so any input would be greatly appreciated.

Work up slow to ~25.1 grains of RE-10X. Very accurate, velocities around 3950 fps from my XR-100.

40 gn Bergers over 25.4 gn Benchmark, CCI small mag primer, seated 2.25" OAL. Explodes 'chucks:

Image, .5" groups always, .3" when I'm shooting well and fantastic trajectory as you can see from the range test print. Coyote wills not be able to take the 40 gn Bergers, they are bad medicine. I'm shooting a RRA Varminter, 24" bull barrel though, I'm sure YRMV...
