20" barrel twist/port size advice

Im having a barrel builder make me a 20" barrel for my upper. He asked me for the specs. I have 2 questions
~.920 seems to be standard on the port size so I used that. Does that sound like that would work with a rifle length gas system?

~ twist- I was thinking about 1:10 but am strongly leaning towards the 1:12 now as I have had really good luck with the 35g Bergers... I know even the berger box says to use 1:14 but Im scared getting stuck with the 35g and them not liking my barrel... Any advice or suggestions would be greatly appreciated..

Hey bigbuck28, I assume you are talking about a .204 Ruger caliber since you said 35 Berger's. I don't know about port size but whatever White Oak Armory drills theirs works for me. Also my WOA 204 24" barrel is a 1-10 twist & it really likes 35 Berger's. On the other hand, my Kimber Pro Varmint 204 has a 1-12 twist & it loves 35 Berger's & CFE. I guess you need to decide if you think you will ever want to shoot 40's because a lots of 1-12's won't shoot them worth a flip. Just my 2 pennies worth.

Thanks for the reply.. Hmm something to think about... I shot a dozen or so coyotes with the 35g bergers... Im just hoping my barrel will like them..
