It was my pleasure to host this Challenge. I plan to repeat it next year. A special thanks goes to Tarrin who did so much behind the scene that no knows about but he and I.

Great little competition, thanks for the opportunity to join in.

For those interested my custom rifle is a Stiller Diamondback, Shillen 1:11.5 twist barrel, MacMillan edge stock 12-42 BR Nightforce scope .
My semi custom is a Tikka LSA55 re-barrelled with a lilja, normally wears a Nightforce also but had a Pentax 8-32 for the Challenge. I used 40gn Bergers, Nosler custom brass and federal 205M primers in both with 28gns 2208 (varget) in the custom and 27.7gns in the Tikka.

Just a thought, shooting into a black background is very hard to see your shots and I imagine very hard to measure. Maybe next years target could be a paler colour.
Cheers

Skipper I also what to say thankyou for the challange to compete with fellow members. I do have to agree with last post that seeing bullet holes in a black background was a little tough. Thanks to everyone that sent back the targets for scoring.

skipper--I want to add my thanks to you for all the time and effort you expended to host this *** 2015 Ruger 204um Five Shot Challenge ***. I appreciated the chance to shoot in the contest. Next year, I'll have to find a day when the wind isn't wafting 15 to 20 mph and I'll also have to make sure I have my barrels cleaned and POI checked. I know--excuses, excuses, excuses!!!

I do have to agree that the black surface of the target made it almost impossible to see the bullet holes and for my old eyes, it was hard to SEE. I probably need one of those 10-60x scopes?!?!?

You're supposed to SEE the target when doing this? Maybe that's my problem too. :)

Thanks for the contest. I look forward to next year and I will practice in between. Maybe I'll get my second box of ammo through it by then.

My apologies for requesting a target, then got involved in something that did not allow the time for me to shoot. Funny thing is guess my AR was going to be the only rifle in the class

:D Hello skipper, sorry for the long delay to get back on the forum want on vacation for the month of July ,retired. I must admit that challenge was a lot of fun.I shoot regular at my club and we have similar type match called the lemon shoot which is a ground hog target and we shoot 5 rounds at 100. 200,300 yards and a egg at 300 to 350 yards depending on the where match leader puts it. and a lemon at 500 yards. I am happy to have won my class and must admit the day was perfect for it.no wind 70 degrees low humidity. love my savage shark the gun fits me to a tee .I don't think I could have a custom made gun fit me any better I'm going to try and send a picture If I can figurer it out ,thanks again well be looking forward to next year thanks Bluestar48 Image

Nice looking rifle Bluestar. That is nicer than many of my custom savage builds which consist of an aftermarket barrel and anything I can find to replace the tupperware stock.

Any takers for a monthly challenge? Another board I frequent has a monthly challenge... maybe we can do something of the sort and have some fun!?

skipper probably has his hands full and i am sure it was a not only an expense but a lot of work to put this on last year - i will throw this out there since it was a lot of fun - i am willing to throw into the money pot for cost of targets/postage and even help with distribution if need be. It was just that much fun - if others want to offer some type of help maybe it could be accomplished and not be a burden. chime in here skipper and tell us what you think. You have my email
