*Attention Members* Summer of 2021 Five Shot Challenge

Your pleas for competition have swayed me to conduct a shooting contest. In the past, the timing of the competition has excluded many members that normally hunt fur bearing targets during this time of the year. Therefore, this year’s competition will be a summer long (July, August, and September) event. That should allow plenty of time for every member to participate.

Registration –
Registration for the Summer of 2021 Five Shot Challenge will begin immediately. You may register via PM by submitting your Name, Username, and Mailing Address to skipper. ONE target per registered member only, please. Registration will continue through the month of June. Watch for a confirmation PM I will send to you whenever I am satisfied, I have received your information. Targets will be mailed on Thursday, July 1st. Targets must be returned to me by Friday, October 1st to be officially scored. The winner will be determined by the smallest single group size, as measured by the On Target Group Measuring Application on my computer.

*THIS IS A 204 RUGER COMPETITION. Yes, I realize that a twenty-caliber bullet makes the same size hole regardless of case dimensions, but we have always depended on Gentlemen’s Rules of Etiquette and this year will be the same. No Tactical, Practical, BR, PPC, etc. Your word is your honor. Let’s keep the playing field level.

Targets –
This year's target will have one (1) bull’s eye. I will mail entrants a target on July 1, 2021. Take care of your targets. They are made of paper and are subject to being damaged easily. You’ll only get one.

*Targets must be in my hands by October 1st to be eligible to win. Return your target as soon as possible to avoid any mishaps voiding your entry. Your target will be scored when it is received and held until the competition is over. In the past, members have suffered damage to their targets or, even worse, the shot holes. Placing anything in front of or behind the target may result in damage. Putting your target in a document protector or using a backer board is a bad idea. I need clean shot holes in order to properly score targets. Most office supply stores have padded mailing envelopes for returning your target. Don’t fold your target.

Shooting –
Targets must be shot at a measured 100 yards from the tip of the muzzle to target. You may use any shooting style you prefer as long as your muzzle is 100 yards from the target.

Scoring –
In order to keep the playing field level, the official group size will be determined by using the same scanner and computer to score ALL returned targets. You are welcome to score your own target, but only my score is official. Normally I have my other shooting enthusiasts review my findings just to keep me from making an error in scoring. A TIE will be decided by measuring the group center from the distance to the center of the bull’s eye. Closest group to the center of the bull’s eye will be declared the winner.


ALL QUESTIONS about the rules will be answered according to the specifics of this post only. 1st, 2nd, and 3rd place winners will be recognized, and scores will be posted.
