Other Hobbies

Post by skipper »

When I'm not shooting or reloading I have several other hobbies like motorcycles, boats, and GUITARS. I love to play both bass and guitar. Technically, a bass is a guitar, but you knew that already. I play in a band and I play at church on Sundays. Here is a small portion of my Gear Acquisition Syndrome (GAS) collection. Believe me there are many more not pictured.

Honestly I don't know one from the other. I've dabbled in woodworking quite a bit over the years tho & dye stains have been popular the last several years for highly figured Maple. Not taking anything away from the others but that one is a real beauty for sure skipper!!

I hear some industrious fellows are using Rit Dye to stain flamed/quilted maple these days. I don't build them, but I sure try my best to wear them out. The black one is completely carbon fiber. It doesn't expand or contract with the weather.

RIT dye is being used. There are other dies out now that are phenomenal. Both powder & liquid. They can be mixed for nearly any color you wish. What's funny about them is that when they dry they look as flat as primer. The clear coat gives them their depth & shine. The automotive clear coat is phenomenally great. The carbon fiber would be killer. That stuffs cool.
