Looking for Bill K

I'm looking for BillK. He hasn't posted on the forum for about a month now. I know, from another member, that he was having trouble with his account. Apparently he got a new computer and had forgotten his password. I have tried to reach out to him and offer help. If anyone has any knowledge of his whereabouts, please let me know. You could also send me a PM if that's more appropriate.
Thanks

Fingers crossed that Bill K will turn up soon. Judging from some of his past postings I know he receives a fair amount of snow in his neck of the woods. Maybe snow bound...? Here's hoping he is also able to figure out the "computer gremlins" and once again re-join the camaraderie found here.

For those who are sitting on pins and needles, like me, I did find out that Bill is alive and well. I have been asked to keep his privacy intact but, I'm sure Bill will tell us all about his absence when he returns. I look forward to that day. Take care!

It's good to know Bill K has only taken a brief hiatus and that he will soon rejoin the group and share with us his splendid gift of repartee. We await his return and to hear the reasons behind his extended absence.

I seem to be back onto the site, for the most part. Had issues in not being able to log in when I went to a new PC/lap top, could not get back on, due to various reasons. IE, new email address, etc. and being very PC dumb.
At the same time I was really busy caring for the wife, in that after the last 3 years of 24/7 care at home, I could not keep doing it and just could not find help, especially at nights, in my rural area. So I had to place her into a Nursing Home, but I could still go down each day, take a light meal and add to her diet in that manner. So the whole combo just kept me busy, busy. But I made it work the best for both of us.
She was just going into the third year at this facility, but took a very bad turn and began bleeding in her stomach on the morning of March 30,2025 and was sent to ER at the local hospital. Next step was a transfer to Reno, NV, which she did not want, to possible see why the bleeding started. Mind you she had been dealing with Parkinson's for over 12 yrs at this point and was slowing going downhill as it was, her not wanting to go into surgery and her condition made the possibility that she could not survive the procedure anyway, made my choice to either press the surgery or place her into Comfort Care (Hospice) at the hospital. I made the choice to proceed with that action. Doctor's said she could last an hour, week or who knows, but with all the tubes, etc drawing blood from her slow bleeding, she was admitted and given medication to allow no pain and give her comfort. I stayed with her in the room all day and into the night. At times she would awake, talk some, but then go back to sleep, with labored breathing. Then at 0730 on the morning of 3-31-25, she woke for a short time, then the nurse gave her another injection and left the room, she fell back to sleep and about 10 minutes later just stopped breathing. I knew she was gone and called staff, nurse and doctor came in, checked he and confirmed her death.
It was not a pleasant time. I miss her greatly, so do the three kids, but we are pressing on, as many must when a family member is lost.
We are not going onto the fifth month of her passing.
Sorry for this long story, but that is some of what has taken place lately. I Thank you for wondering about me and some for finally aiding in my return to the site, but I may not be as active as prior, but I am still plugging along, just getting older and moving on, working just day to day, it seems now days. Bill, so sorry to hear of your wife's passing. That is indeed a hard time for you and the entire family.
With what you describe, she is now in a peaceful place compared to what she's been enduring. May she rest in peace.
Glad to have you back with us in the fold so to speak, and hope you're doing a bit better now. We all look forward to seeing your byline again more often, and stories and pics of your varmint shooting adventures here. Be well my friend, and God bless.
For you, and thoughts of next springtime.....

Bill...my heartfelt condolences on your wife's passing. It's one of those things that life throws at us from time to time, especially a we age. She is in a better place and pain free. It's going to be tough but you'll get through this.
Sorry to hear about the computer issues because they can be a real pain in the neck and other parts & pieces. There has been times I wished I'd taken a course in Chinese algebra than deal with computer issues.
I too look FWD to your stories and pictures.
Take care,
