What's the best way?

Post by Jersey Hunter »

I'm a new to reloading, I think I have a good load for my 204 using the 39 gr. blitz king . Now I want to start moving the bullet closer to the lands. Using Sierra's 2.250 COAL measurement I'm .213 from the lands. I'm thinking of moving the bullet out .025 for each step until I reach 2.325. Is there a better way?
Thanks,
Barry

I usually start .010 from the lands on rifles I load single shot. If the loads are minute of prairie dog I leave it alone. Weather you go short to long or long to short won't matter. When you find your best .025 zone fine tune with .005.

I would suggest loading them out in .010 increments. At .025 you might jump right over a sweet spot and never know it. If you want to cut down on the amount of bullets fired just load four of each. Four will be enough to show you the spot to start fine tuning.
