Heaviest bullet ?

Post by Yotecallr »

What is the heaviest bullet weight you can shoot in 204 with a 1/12 twist ?
Only accurate rifles are interesting....

Yote: No firm answer, but some 12 twist 204's shoot the Hornady 45gr very well, but many won't shoot the 40gr V-Max worth a hoot.

Most here will agree though, that the majority of 12 twist factory 204's shoot the 39gr SBK very well, two of my 12 twist rifles included. You'll just have to try the 39, 40's, and the 45gr in your own rifle to be sure.

One of my 204s with 1 in 12 twist will shoot 40 gr Vmaxs, 40gr Bergers, and 45gr SPs very well. I did try some 48gr Wildcats in it although and I could not even hit the backstop at 100yds.
