I am looking for some good pet loads if anyone has any for the Midsouth 34 gr hp for the 204. I have just not had any real good luck yet but in an effort to limit bad experiments does anyone have any load data/recommended loads they would like to share. Thanks in advance and I hope everyone has a Merry Christmas, and please dont forget our troops in your prayers this season.

Dave

Still developing the load, so ballpark - Dogtown 34 (same bullet, but Midway USA), 27.0g of H4895, CCI 400, 2.250" COL. It is running ~.6" 5-shot groups in my Howa 1500 (which is real finicky).

27g of A2230, oal=2.240, Rem Brass, 3,850 fps
27g of H322, oal=2.240, Win. brass, 3,875 fps
28.8g of W748, oal=2.240 Win brass, 3,850 fps

I have shot many good groups in the .3 and .4 moa's with these 3 powders and the 34g Midsouth bullets, but you should work up to them and check pressure as you go.

What primer are you using on these ? Looks like I might have stopped short on the AA2230...

Bert, I was using Rem. 7.5's almost exclusively, but when the primer crunch came I had to go with Wolf 223 primers, and while I still shoot with the Rem 7.5's sometimes, I use a lot more of the Wolf 223's and they give a little more velocity for me and are pretty consistent for ES.
