+1 For the CZ 527 w/that exact scope (the best glass you can afford on top).

I can't help you on that one from here. You could try http://www.whittakerguns.com tho. They stock somewhere in the neighborhood of a bazillion guns & about 1/3 of them are Coopers I think. OK not thaaaat many Coopers but a bunch.

Glen, If my wife ever finds out I got Whittakers website info from you here, and another Cooper shows up, I'll be banned from the site forever by wifey, and you'll be in hot water for supplying the intel!

Savage 11 is a good budget coyote killer. I just took my 11 shortaction out/apart for a 7mm-08 build. Only prblem I had with mine over 3 years was a rare loosening of the action screws. You know it instantly when the accuracy goes to pot. The non accu-stock leaves alot to be desired. But it will be more than enough accurate for doggies.

I too will give Savage a vote in the cheaper price section! They are accurate right out of the box and Bushnell 3200 series scopes are on sale $100 dollars off of the regular price at Cabela's. 4 x 12 with AO is running $219.oo dollars.

I've been looking at the CZ-USA 527 American in the .204 also,so far the best price I found for a brand new one in the box was $619.00 + tax.I'm going to check with a few local Dealers and a couple that are around 30-50 miles away for more pricing to see if they can beat that price? :chin:

GTO-Hunter, I had a lot of success with the 527 CZ rifle I had but I got rid of it when brass and ammo got hard to get for the .222 Reminton. I sure shot great with factory Hornady ammo (under.500-MOA) at 100 yds off the bench rain or shine. Those folks I know who have CZ rifles sure like them a lot and their accuracy with factory ammo has been top shelf also.

WOW...they have definetly gone up, because 2-3 years ago they were very reasonable. They're a great little carry rifle, although I need to rescope mine to a lower power. Gotta' hold off though, compelled to give the gubment some hard earned $$$ thats due around April 15th.

I actually bought a box of Hornady 40 grain V-max bullets to shoot out of the Savage Model 10 Bull Barrel .204 and ended up only putting a few shells thru it the Owner let me have while trying out the Rifle....so I have the whole box of new shells un-shot!They cost around $16.95 + tax a box of 20 shells.

Well I went to one of the Gun Sites listed here and for a used CZ-American .204 it was priced at $569.00 so I would be better off going with new and not pay the shipping and FFL charges in the long run?I also looked at the Cooper Rifle prices...the Wife would have me skinned alive if I spent that much money on a Rifle! :eew: :wall:

C-Z 527 Am. for $618 incl. shipping (but not ffl. of course) @www.budsgunshop.com. I bought one from their store 2 yrs. ago; very helpful staff. Only "problem" is they're now selling the heavier-barreled Varmint model for only 10 bucks more. At <1 lb. more, I'd be tempted to go that way and maybe cut and re-crown that barrel later if I thought I needed it. This geezer's getting to appreciate the sound-deadening properties of a heavier barrel; those hammer-forged C-Z sporters seem to be especialy loud for the cal.'s (to me) even with muffs. Less vertical stringing when warm, too, with a varmint bbl.
