Coyotes with the 204.
This is part of 2019 coyote haul, over fifty so far,i hunt from October till first of May generally. two methods ,calling and bait piles.I pick up a dozen road killed deer and chain them behind my house,if not chained they'll drag them away. The colder the weather the bet
ter the shooting. One pile is 75 yards, one 100 yds away.Works well as does calling. This one took a Hornady 24 grain polymer NTX ruined his day in the throat. We have big Eastern brush wolves here many 40 to 50 pounds plus.-

Re: Coyotes with the 204.
I used to get the local hunting clubs to save me deer carcasses and guts. Usually 2-3 a week. I had bait stations all around the fields within a few miles of my house. I’d get up early in the morning and ride in my truck checking the bait. Coyotes, bobcats, crows… they all got a .20 cal bullet.
I later found that beaver seemed to be the carcass that coyotes preferred the most.
And when we’d squirrel hunt, I’d save the guts. I have called upwind from a thicket and had coyotes come to me if i had a pile of squirrel guts poured out in front. I still use the squirrel remains and usually call the day after a squirrel hunt.

I noticed you posted a thread on getting Remington to rebarrel your 204 SPS rifle. I don't see any updates on if your "pie plate" accuracy is closer to the gun's accuracy using 32 grain bullets with the old barrel?
Thank you
Allen

Re: Coyotes with the 204.
The old gun/barrel shot the 32’s good but the 39 & 40’s were terrible. I checked the twist with a cleaning rod and it was something like a 1:13 twist. I sent the rifle back to Remington and they sent me a brand new rifle. I’m currently shooting 35 Bergers in the new rifle and it shoots plenty good for a factory rifle. I am pleased with it.
