Early morning Red

Post by Immortal »

With the temps around 0 degrees and snow on the ground, figured it would be a perfect time to try some calling. Got to the field around 6:00am. Set the Foxpro Fury out about 75yds. from me and started playing "Lightning Jack".

About 4 min. in,I spotted eyes about 250yds. straight out. The wind was blowing from my right at 2mph so I knew it couldn't bust me. It was eager to find out where the free meal sound was coming from and made it's way downwind and started to close the distance. It got about 100yds. from the caller and stopped. I lit it up with the Coyotelight and saw it was standing broadside so I decided to take the shot. Perfect head shot.

Equipment used : EWT 100 scan light mounted on hat, CoyoteLight, Savage LRPV 204 Ruger using 39gr. Blitzkings.

Here is the pic of my stand. Lots of tracks all through the field.

No kidding. Its been so cold around here that at first glance I can mistake a fox for a coyote their fur is so thick.
