I don't shoot much rimfire but I have friends that do Bodie. I shoot my 22 only when the young ones charge me with evil eyes. lol but yes over 1/3 of my shots last time would have been easily made with a 22 or 17. My thoughts are the season might be short so I get out now while I can. My reasoning is the heatwave is coming early this year due to lack of rain.

If I am looking at the picture of that pivot field correctly, then I understand why you are running low on ammo!

Me also, til you clued me.. Interesting photo shoot/video.. Interesting, I appears, how you converted your base to the tree stand to the shooting bench, or so it appears. Have a question however, in the one photo the rifles resting again the wall/rack, barrel down, how are the muzzles protected from damage ? Bill K :)

Bill,
The barrels are McGowen 1-11 Twist w/11degree Crown, no way can damage occur. They are also placed barrel down on old mouse pads. 1/4" thick cloth/neoprene. Most damage is done by improper cleaning than anything else. This lets the remaining liquid drain down to the muzzle instead of the action, it's then pushed out with a patch. I use the Smith and Wesson Bore gel 20-30 strokes on a nylon brush and let it sit overnight.

Just got back from that same field last night, Sunday/Monday trip and the shooting was way down. The fields were all shot by a "guide" all week. There are actually two movies in that post, the top one had 3-4 mins. from my phone, see the squirrels 20-30 feet from the bench standing there as by buddy is shooting? dumb squirrels. The benches are 2 piece steel light weight and very stable. 145.00 at the local Sportsman's Whorehouse.

I figured you had them protected. Have never seen anyone that really shoots and cares for their rifles, store them and bang them around muzzle down. I have seen some pretty sad muzzles over the years, from guys riding around with rifles barrel down on the floor boards of jeeps, ATV's, etc. and even in their homes.. Knew you and 99% of the folks on this site know better. Bill K
