Thanks Bill. I was walking this morning, trying to get photos of the osprey above the Columbia River and stumbled across this little rascal.

No-shooting area, and I wasn't so inclined anyway. So, he's immortalized via digi-camera!

Regards, Guy

Understand that. There is one area in my neck of the woods, where I see them regularly, but it is too near homes, some business's and on native land, so not safe to shoot. They live a good life there, but nice to see, so it does have it's benefits. Bill K

They've been out for a while in southern Idaho. I went out a couple times and got a few with my .218 Bee

We had a good rockchuck day a couple weekends ago. Pretty neat critters; first ones I'd taken.

Great stuff! Glad you got out and had fun with Rocky and his buddies, Dan.

I've been out this week too..... Here's a "Before" shot:

That guy was safe, in town at a yuppie shopping area, but could not resist grabbing my Nikon with 300mm lens to 'shoot' him out the truck window.

Here's one that poked his head and shoulders up at 215 yards while I was under a juniper tree scoping out his rock pile:

The best thing about rock chucks, is that it makes you actually HUNT them, not sitting on a bench all day shooting stupid ground squirrels that have as much sense as a bag of hair.

I'll work up a post of recent rat outings. I hope you're able to get out some more this year now that you've 'discovered' how much fun playing with them is. Thanks for sharing. :D
