Hello, Im new to the site and looking for some answers. I recently purchased a Volquartsen Evolution 204 ruger with a 1:9 twist rate and 24" SS barrel. I used to use 223 for PD hunting but decided to switch to 204. My question is would this twist rate be optimal for 40g Hornady Superformance ammo?

With the 9t, you might/could use the 45g bullets. Most 204's are 12t, and shoot the 30-39's good depending on the gun since every gun is different.

I would take it to the range with all the different weights I could find, and see what it likes. GL
