serpent: You won't see E.R. Shaw barrels at any BR matches, but friends who have tried them tell me that they give reasonable performance for the money, sometimes better accuracy than expected considering the cost.

They had a questionable reputation some time back, but the owner invested in all new CNC machinery, and their barrels now are of much better quality in terms of internal dimensions and bore quality. They may not be up to the standards of Lilja, Pac-Nor, Shilen, Hart or Krieger, but if you're looking to barrel a hunting or varmint rifle, I'm told they are a decent option now, especially considering their cost.

This is what I'm told by others; I don't own one myself.

I have recently put together an AR using a ER Shaw barrel. So far it seems to be a pretty decent shooter. Good enough to take a coyote at 175+ yards. Haven't had a chance to shoot any real serious groups but what I have shot are not bad.
