Finally got out for some prairie poodling. *Graphic art work

Post by Gube »

Well the stars finally lined up and a few members of the A.R.F.S (Alberta Raptor Feeding Society) managed to head out for some pasture action. I guess this would be the Northern Chapter of the E.O.R.F.S. ;) I managed to talk my wife into joining my daughter and eldest son and I with her fancy camera for some action shots. We managed quite a few (I call it prairie poodle art) and I'll try to get as much of them posted today as I can. They are very similar to the ones I posted last year.

Here is "yours truly" with the new logo.

Here is the first sequence of many (as Rick would say) "teaching skippy to jump"

All shots captured were between 50 and just shy of 200 yds.

Hard to see this next fella hiding in the grass. He's just below, left of the dandelion flower.

Nope. I actually had to drive out about 45 minutes to get to this spot. This is the first time we've been there. Lots of rats to be had, but the property is quite small (about 80 acres), so I'll have to check out my other spots before I totally eradicate this one.

Gube....dude.....NICE!

Great camera work....Skippy in flight, I love it! Looks like the EORFS logo transferred nicely to ARFS too....sorta sounds like a dog "arf" in Canada, eh? ;)

Glad the weather finally relented and allowed you to get out after the rats again. Keep us up to date with the adventures of the ARFS!

I up-loaded 80 pics so here are more on the way. I'll try to get them all posted within the next couple of days. I've run out of RL-10X, so I've just been in the process of loading up some test loads using the new XBR 8208.

Enjoy.

Here's a bunch more of "skippy" learning to fly.

This is one of my favorites. He had a lot of "hang time" allowing the camera to catch 6 frames of "art"

Gube: How many frames/sec is she shooting? Is she setting the DSLR on 'Program', or is she selecting the fast shutter speed? Canon or Nikon?

Inquiring minds want to know! ;)

Oh, and don't ya just love those "peekers"? I love sucking them out of their holes by their heads from about 300 with a 39SBK or 40BT! Oh the joy! Thanks for sharing the fun.
