sciope rings : how different the hieghts between the frt/rea

Post by kennisondan »

got ruger scope rings from an internet seller and the difference between them is about an eiighth of an inch.. to the point that it will obviously never line up the bore and scope... it is obviously canted either very far up or very far down. looking through the bore the scope is 12 to 14 inches higher or lower than the bore.

kennis: Look at the rifle's receiver. The front is most likely higher than the rear. The short height ring goes there, and the higher ring in the rear.

Some rifles actually have this in reverse, but you must look at the rifle to determine which is higher; the receiver bridge or the rear of the action. All Ruger rings are made like that for this very reason.
