I would bet you will not be able to tell much difference between .243 WIN and the 25-06 rem in the field, maybe over 350 yds., on big game. I have two .243 win., one sporter 7oo Rem and one Rem 7oo heavy barrel and both are great. My buddy has two 25-06 rem 700's and two 243 Win. Remingtons and they all perform very well, and yes one is a sendero, very nice. So many nice rifles these days , good luck on whatever you choose. Rud

I'd go with the 25.06. The 100 and 120 grain bullets will "buck" the wind better than the .243 bullets. Besides the usual makers like Rem, Sav., Rug, Brown., Tikka also look at CZ and Howa. I have one of each and they are both tack drivers and reliable. The CZ is a Mauser bolt (which I prefer over push feeds) for big game hunting.

I've been using the 6mm Rem since 1974 with no complaints....

I've heard that the 243 is a barrel burner due to a short neck, where as a 6mm Remington isn't. Any preferences as to one over the other? I'm asking because those are 2 calibers I'm looking at.
