As you know about the scope issue, I got it back and the same thing happened. I never thought to check this only because, I have never had anything come from Savage bad. I did look down bore, from action end and cleaned it before I shot it, in the beginning.
So, I looked here.

I took a small screw driver to see if I could feel the brown streak, and it was very distinctive. There is another one that you can't see.
So, now I think it is the gun :wall:

That sucks but i bet savage will stand behind it and take care of it.

I'm sure you are right. It's too bad Savage can't tighten things up on the front end a little more, though.
