Kimber Revolvers, anyone have one?

Post by skipper » Sat Aug 26, 2017 6:04 am

I had the pleasure of handling one of these gems yesterday at Cabela's. My first impression was bewilderment. I've never even imagined Kimber producing revolvers, yet here it was. The trigger pull was firm yet smooth and the actual break was really very nice. The retail price is on par with the Smith and Wesson 686 Plus Deluxe. Some of the pistols had tritium sights and others didn't. I liked the polished model but the one I looked at didn't have tritium sights. I have seriously been considering buying the S&W 686. Does anyone have any experience with Kimber revolvers?

Skipper, can not comment on the Kimber revolver, but I can tell from personal experience, with their pistols, if it is anywhere near as good, then the revolver should be a hit and well worth having. Bill K :)

I have been a fan of Kimber firearms for years. I just haven't been exposed to Kimber revolvers. I probably would have bought the one I had in my hands if it had the single action option. I'm not a big fan of double action only. I love the feel of a Smith and Wesson revolver when I can pull the trigger back and take advantage of that clean, crisp break. Having double action for situations where speed is of the essence is important, but I still like to have options. Texas is an open carry state, so having a hammerless revolver is not that important to me.

:hail: All hail Kimber quality!!!

This is the other revolver I'm considering. I can't make up my mind. :not:

I too, like the double/single action modes in revolvers. As I said, not knowing or having seen and handled the new Kimber revolver and it having just the double action. I would tend to go with the S&W. Nothing wrong with them either. Carried S&W for a few years, in LE, along with a 1911. Bill K :)

Skipper: I'm a fan of Kimbers too, and have a good selection of their 1911's in .45 ACP, even have a Kimber Micro 9.

All my revolvers are S&W, and they're well represented in my safe too, but that said, if you have interest in the Kimber K6, go over to the Kimbertalk forum and check out what others have said about that particular weapon:

If it's Kimber, you'll find it there. Mucho Kimber fans abound. ;)
