S & W 669, Old Skool? :)

Post by acloco »

Purchased a S & W 669 model for a possible CC weapon. Aluminum frame, stainless slide, 12 round capacity in 9mm, decocker/safety, & DA/SA.

Did not "paper" the pistol today, just a quick trip to the range for a function test after an entire disassembly, clean, and lube.

Using 115 gr FMJ (Precision Delta) over Hodgdon HS6, accuracy was excellent on 6" plates at 15 yards. Action cycles a little faster than most. Trigger in DA and SA is excellent as well. Very impressed with mid 1980's technology, that everybody is still trying to duplicate today.

Very simple design and not a lot of levers and doodads....which is what a CC should be. Slide lock, mag release, and safety/decocker lever. Also has a 1/4 cock hammer if so desired (I see no need at this point in time).
