Depends on what I'm in the woods for.

Most times though, one of my .44's is either with me or on me. We've got plenty of bears and more cougars than we want, so being properly armed makes sense, even more so than being "street armed" for the two - legged predators. And there's always a chance at a wily coyote too.

Another one was added recently, a Winchester M92 Octagon .44; a pure joy to pack in the timber.

But if I was wanting to carry a 1911 while out in the outback, it would be a Kimber 10mm too. Excellent choice! :D

I used to have a 94 in 44-Mag. I really like it but on occasion when chambering a round, the cartridge would flip and do a 180 and it could be bugger to get it out. Since then I have procured me a couple of 94 Winchester Wrangler [32-Special] and 38-55 [Wrangler II]. But for a handgun, its either my 629 Classic, Glock-20 or S&W 1006.

When it comes to heading into the woods, I've got my trusty 10mm Kimber by my side. It's been a reliable companion on my outdoor adventures. By the way, have any of you heard about that website, 3dgunbuilder.com? There's some interesting stuff related to this topic over there. Happy exploring! 🌲🔫

For tight/150 yrd wood/heavy stuff, I still use the old 94 Win, in 30-30 that was bought in 1949, when I was 11 yrs old. Lost count over the years of how many animals it has taken. Did add a Skinner peep on the reciever 5 years ago, but still maintain the old Lyman peep on the stock ( hope photo shows both) . And just for kicks, this buck was in the front yard yesterday, he is on the list for this coming season. :D
