Capt: Wow, nice grips for sure! When I saw your post, and knowing you were going to re-grip that 10mm, I was afraid you'd show up in rat camp with some "pearl pimp grips".

Glad to see better taste prevailed......

She's a lookin' good! :D

Gary, have you had any experience with a Glock Model 20? I'm curious to know what your DW is like to shoot and the only frame of reference I have to base experience on in a 10mm is a Glock 20. The DW 1911s caught my eye, but I understand that they're dropping the 10mm from the 2010 lineup. I'd like to handle one, but there isn't anyone around here who carries them that I am aware of.

Hi Mike, I haven't play with a Glock 20 to compare but I can say that the Dan Wesson is great! You are correct that they have discontiuned the CBOB but I believe that they still make a 10mm. As far as the handling one, I must say that the bob-tail confiruration is the most comfortable grip I've ever used to the point that someday I will convert my full size Kimber to a bob-tail. Good luck in your research. Gary

Thanks, Gary. I'll have to do some more digging, but I have read a few references that claim DW is dropping the 10mm entirely. Seems like a mistake to me, but I'm also not certain that what I read is accurate.

The bobbed look has really grown on me, so I'm pleased to hear that it is so comfortable to handle.

Ok, I did some more digging around on caliber options for 2010. According to a source from Dan Wesson, the company is suspending production of .40 S&W and 10mm for 2010.

"The 10mm and the 40 will be dropped next year. Why? For the past three years our sales for these calibers have dropped and dropped so for next year we will be taking a break from them. This does not mean that these are discontinued for good we are just taking a break."

Mike, thanks for the info! I can understand the slow numbers on the 10mm but the 40 also  :chin: :duh: Gary

I guess it makes sense in the 1911 platform. Like you, I was a bit surprised though.

All this, and my son at Glock tells me that .40 is their second most in demand chambering, the 9mm still being the most built, primarily because of military contracts though. They still can't make the things fast enough I'm told.

Strange though that DW would drop back or eliminate such a popular chambering......
